We're trying to bring the whole White Oak Basin to a trash free condition. This includes Onslow, Carteret, and Jones counties. Camp Lejuene, too.
Removing trash from this basin is important for water quality. We believe visual water quality counts as much as chemical water quality. We work with the New River Foundation, the Coastal Federation, and others on Big Sweep each year. These events are great as much for the awareness they generate as for the trash that is collected. We believe prevention is the key, however.
