A bill to add "I will not litter" to our drivers licenses

Please do all you can to obtain support and co-sponsors for this bill, today, Clean Water Lobby Day.

This is what our Onslow County Commissioners unanimously passed in a resolution last year. This is a Statewide problem and needs Statewide support.

Rep. Robert Grady e-mailed me yesterday: "The bill will be "read in" tomorrow, April 6. Members may sign to be co-sponsors April 6, up until 30 minutes after session. Session is at 1 PM".

Road Runner shut me down yesterday for sending too many messages and probably will do so again today so, we need your help badly.

This is our very best opportunity to curtail litter at the source. Please make it happen. "If no one litters there will be no litter". Elmer

Paddling, April 7, 2005, Southwest Prong New Port River

Paddling Thursday, April 7, 2005, Southwest Prong of The Newport River

This is part of the new Paddle Trails recently cleared of blown down trees by the Commissioners of Carteret County.

We will meet the put-in at 9:00 AM at the bridge over the Southwest Prong on Highway #1124, being Nine Mile Road. This is just few hundred yards north of the intersection with Roberts Road # 1140. We will unload our boats and gear here and drive all vehicles to the take-out at the Wildlife Ramp on Old Route 70 in Newport. We will return in the shuttle vehicles to the put-in. We should be off the river by 3:00.

Paul Ferguson, Author of "Paddling Eastern North Carolina" is speaking to the Crystal Coast Canoe & Kayak Club at 7:00PM on Wednesday, the 6th, at The Bryant Student Center at Carteret County Community College. All are invited.

Paul will be paddling with us on this trip and gathering the information necessary to include this new paddle trail as an addendum to his book. All are invited to join us. We will be picking up all trash but we expect very little if any, because we recently cleaned it and because, "If no one litters there will be no litter". No one is obligated to pick up any if they are not so inclined. Elmer
